FOLLOW UP OB VISIT

Our hearts are slowly healing after the 2nd miscarriage.  Caitlin had a follow up OB visit.  The pathology testing ruled out her blood disorder as the cause.  It also ruled out chromosome issues.  The OB said it was a "normal" miscarriage where something just didn't line up in the development of the fetus!  We hang on to the fact that she can get pregnant and the fact that they can make a healthy baby    (Beautiful Gracyn, who will be TWO in a few weeks!).  PRAYERS continue!

9 WEEKS PREGNANT!

Dear Baby Thompson,

We took a sneak peek at you last Tuesday at an optional ultrasound place that is close by.  My how you have grown!  You are still measuring 5 to 6 days behind, but you are growing right on track each week with a healthy heartbeat. Your heart was a beautiful flutter of 156!  Sometime this week you end the embryonic stage and enter the fetal period! WOW! You will measure about an Inch long, the size of a medium green olive or grape. Soon your head will straighten out and will be more fully developed, Your ears will be much more prominent and some new organs (the liver, spleen and gallbladder) will be forming.  As your muscles develop, we should see more spontaneous movement at the next elective ultrasound on Tuesday!  We can't wait to hear your heartbeat and movements on the home doppler.  Mommy was able to hear your big sister around 10 weeks pregnant.  Since you are growing behind schedule, it may be closer to 11 weeks or so with you.....Time will tell!

As for Mommy, her belly really popped this week!  She still has all of the normal pregnancy symptoms, but I think she is turning the corner from projectile vomiting to just being nauseous!   The main food aversion is hamburger!  Now that is doable! Yay!

Love you!
